Print one test page on plain paper, hold it over a label sheet, and adjust if the barcodes sit off-centre. "Skip used labels" starts printing after labels already peeled off a partly used sheet.

    What ITF-14 is for

ITF-14 is the barcode printed on outer cases and shipping cartons. It holds a 14-digit GTIN: an indicator digit for the packaging level, the 12 digits of the product's EAN-13 without its check digit, and a new check digit. The thick frame around the bars, called bearer bars, helps it scan on corrugated board.

For example, a case of 12 of the product 200100000001 could use indicator 1: enter 1200100000001 and the tool adds the check digit.

How to print ITF-14 carton labels

    1. Paste one 13- or 14-digit GTIN per line, with an optional description after a Tab or comma.
    2. The sheet is set to A4 14 per sheet (99×38 mm), which gives the barcode room to scan. For US Letter, Avery 5163 4×2 inch labels also work well.
    3. Download the PDF and print at 100%. On a thermal printer, choose the 4×6 inch roll.

How is the ITF-14 check digit calculated?

The same way as for EAN-13: from the right, digits are weighted 3 and 1 alternately, and the check digit brings the total to a multiple of 10. Enter 13 digits and it is added for you.

What indicator digit should I use?

Use 1 to 8 for different packaging levels of the same product, for example 1 for a case of 12 and 2 for a pallet layer. 0 means the case contains different products.

    Can ITF-14 be printed small?

Not really. It is designed for cartons and should be printed fairly large, about 15 cm wide at full size and no less than about half that. Small labels make it hard to scan.
